Tribute to Jean Dieuzaide
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his date of birth.
Tuesday, September 27, 2005, I move forward, I dare to walk on the biggest picture that I had never happened to encounter.
Reunion Island, in the town of Sainte-Rose, lava flow, a huge fresco on the ground.
Neither beach, nor sea, nor river, nor desert, nor meadow, nor field and even less, path or road, could offer me such an exhilarating work at will. I was not on board of an airplane raving about the shapes and colors that only appear when viewed from above. On foot, at the height of a man, leaning forward or crouching, I selected and framed through a small 14×7 mm glass rectangle pictorial fragments with dynamic curves, braids, pleats and obviously charged with a deep and extreme sensuality.
Of course, came to me what Jean Dieuzaide must have felt during his adventure with the pitch.
