After more than a year of searching, C/O Berlin has found a new location: the studio buildings in Monbijoupark in Berlin Mitte. On September, 16th, 2011 at the representatives’ meeting of the district assembly Mitte, it was unanimously decided that C/O Berlin may utilize these existing buildings temporarily. This decision will secure the existence of the internationally renowned exhibition space for photography. C/O Berlin would like to explicitly thank the district of Mitte as well as the Senate Department for Culture, who have made the utilization of this location possible.
In the coming months C/O Berlin will carefully revitalize the studio buildings. The move from the previous location, the former imperial post office, is planned for Autumn 2012. Together with the district authorities and Pott Architects, C/O Berlin will devise a concept for long-term utilization, which will take into account the special circumstances of this location and also include plans to enlarge the existing green areas.
