Within this new series of work that makes up the content of Enlightened Blooms, I have explored the classical subject of flowers through a fresh and new revitalizing lens. From Hibiscus and Tea roses to Amaryllis and Cala lilies, each of them have been uniquely transformed through my own individualized process of solarization. My goal was to create a portfolio of work to encourage a deeper appreciation of the beauty of flowers that so often passes us by in our daily lives. For me this collection represents an art form that has often been overlooked, and or frowned upon in the photographic world, with hopes of giving the viewer a new look into the form and elegance of flowers through this sensitive process of solarization.
