Karine Maussière likes the idea of traveling on familiar territory, linking the natural to the technical, bucolic landscape to urban cityscape, speaking of humanity and its erratic complexity, exposing the emptiness, investing a poetics of displacement (Chambres d’ailleurs 2006-2007).
During her travels, her serial work (Twenty six gasoline stations, 2005-2011) dealt with emptiness. Does this emptiness reflect the absence of being or, on the contrary, a faint presence, a potential, something waiting to be filled and, by extension, brought to realization. By exploring our perception of the landscape (interior/exterior), her work contributes to the renewal of the genre offering small-format photographs and a poetic approach.
