For several years, the gallery of the Atrium hotel has entrusted the Collectif Optim’Art its wall space. From April 2023 until the end of March 2024, I present, as a curator, an exhibition of portraits seen differently. Most are already known, others less so, but they have never been presented in this way.
With the full agreement of the nine authors, I reframed their original works to extract the quintessence of the dialogue that must be established between the subject and the reader of the image.
Whether the characters who are presented directly are famous or completely unknown, they present, voluntarily or not, a good part of their personality, through a limited part of their face.
It remains for readers-visitors to determine whether these part of the faces open the door sufficiently to situate all these people in their own imagination.
In order to allow an egalitarian vision of all the subjects and all the photographers, the bias of standardized prints and without dating indices is fully assumed.
The access to the exhibition is completely free until April 2024.
