Daniel Nassoy discovered photography by taking black-and-white analog pictures of Paris and developing them himself. His career as a “photo’graphist” began with the creation, using very simple means—a few lights, some black paint—a small nocturnal theatre in which he explores the nude male body. Numerous models join this fantastical game, whose objective reflects the participants’ desires and dreams. Within the space of a virtual décor, sometimes real, other times made up, Daniel Nassoy deploys his nudes having achieved a poetic projection where the “photo’graphist” magic lives up to its full potential. This is the origin of the series Hommes Objets, now on view in Arles on the walls of the restaurant Les Salles Gosses.
