Until August 4, the Aquarium Donostia-San Sebastián presents the Visions Océanes exhibition by Magali Léonard and Grégoire Dupuis. It is described as follows:
The ideas of the philosopher, poet and creator of bridges between the arts and sciences, Gaston Bachelard, who studied “the life of images of water”, inspired this exhibition.
These two photographers observe, scrutinize and capture the moods of the Atlantic Ocean.
They offer to discover their perceptions of the encounter between land and living water, emerging or moving and always sublimated by light.
Magali Leonard, visual artist, delivers in photographs the representation of singular moments experienced in fusion with the sand.
Through the intensity of natural earth colors, it reinforces the action of water flows in mineral vegetation. Her practice is always anchored on the elements: Earth, air, water, fire as cosmic references of creation.
Grégoire Dupuis, photographer, uses his approach to lead “Marine Souls” into an imaginary and dreamlike representation of another Oceanic and human reality. It is a point of view on Nature as a breeding ground for the Arts.
Both invite us to share the freedom of interpretation of the vital forces of water.
The action of seeing and conceiving the Ocean even in dreams, opens up to us the horizon and the thought of a world in perpetual movement and renewal.
