World Press Photo Festival begins tomorrow in Amsterdam. From 20 to 22 April, this three-days event will take roots at CompagnieTheater. Conceived as a forum for photojournalism, the festival will bring together award-winners or prominent photographers and the public. The aim is to raise awareness on photo-journalists and their agencies, by offering the public a chance to discover “stories behind the stories“.
A discussion with photographer Stanley Greene, known for his coverage of the Vietnam War and his long-lasting forty-five years career behind the camera will undoubtedly be a highlight. Also to be pointed are presentations of Time Instagram 2016 winner prize, Ruddy Roye or the Iranian photographer and director Ahmak Mahmoodian. Many other discussions, portfolios presentations and exhibitions are also to be seen.
