This young photographer delved into the daily lives of Americans who, disgusted with bad eating habits, have created their own private farms. After having developed a documentary eye, her work on the chicken, one of the food industry’s most despised animals, was more
artistic.
Beyond the reaches of the omnipresent fast food chains, Eliazarov
shows young Americans willing to spend more to eat better, a project
that grew from her self questioning “Should I eat organic eggs or not?”
While many of her pictures were taken in the country where people have relocated to start their farms, she also managed to follow a few city dwellers including the Eagle Street Rooftop Farm that functions on a New York city rooftop. She met these new farmers across the country, from New Hampshire to New Jersey, including stops in North Carolina and Los Angeles.
