The city of Taroudant stands at the southern foot of the Atlas Mountains in the Souss Vally of Morocco. Once the ancient capital of the country in Saadi times it was (and still is) a point where the Berber people mix with a, relatively more recent, Islamic influx.
Alex Schneideman is a photographer living in London. He has been visiting Taroudant for fifteen years and will continue to monitor the ‘tone’ of the city as the Arab Spring matures and achieves its many objectives.
