Chimeras
I like to mischievously take the viewer on a journey that goes beyond simple aesthetics. Under the appearance of an unbridled and playful imagination hides the cry of a weakened humanism. The message is at the center of my creation: A fragile child on an airplane wing, a naked man who could be Adam, waiting for what or who? …It’s beautiful, of course, but it’s also very representative of the thin armor of glass that protects us from ourselves and others.
Technically speaking, my method is drawn from some thirty years of life confronted with silver film, which had within it a form of almost human poetry, composed of qualities and defects. Without being nostalgic, far from it, I entered the digital era in the early 2000s with this DNA.
The manipulation is subtle and poetic, black and white is obvious for this series, while often, my work is very colorful, probably due to the many years I spent in the Caribbean… But that, This is an other story !
