Exhibiting for the first time at AIPAD is the Parisian gallerist François Sage, who has brought with him a selection of photographs from the English-speaking world. Aside from Bill Brandt, currently the subject of a wonderful exhibition at MoMA in New York, we find on the gallery’s walls a host of American artists, including the great Harry Callahan, the late specialist in abstraction and figuration Cy Twombly, and a few photographs by Andy Warhol. Some examples of the classical European school made the trip, as well, with the still lifes of Karl Blossfeldt and some architectural photos by Eugène Atget.
