Archives 2014 In 1966, While doing a story on Andy Warhol for Life Magazine, Steve Schapiro photographed Lou Reed and the Velvet  Underground, in a dilapidated Hollywood Hills castle where they were staying waiting to get paid for the Exploding Plastic Inevitable gig they had  just played.
