The 27th edition of Visa pour l’image Perpignan openned last saturday. 27 years ! We did not know then;that we were at the end of an era ! The good old days were going to be replaced by a tsunami which changed photojournalism drastically. Photo agencies in bankrupcy or in chapter 11, magazines disapearing, the last weeks have been quite dark. So why be there ? Because we still want to believe, because we have been raised with photojournalism, and photojournalism is the cardinal entry in photography. So we will be there !
One more thing, we don’t care if Capa stayed 5 minutes on the beach, and wether he was scared? It is great. Capa is an extraordinary human being and photographer.His 11 pictures are the greatest of D day. Stop listenning to these shit diggers,next time they will try to convince you Capa had no love affair with Ingrid Bergmann.
