In each of her photographs, Valérie Archeno constructs a mysterious nighttime world full of young people performing rituals that distance them from reality. The artist crafts elaborate stagings catches the subjects in the middle of their surreal stories. The youths she captures in these bewitching scenes of love and madness are enigmatic and disoriented. As part of its partnership with Paris Photo, SFR will offer seven winners an unprecedented opportunity with SFR Jeunes Talents. This program will allow photographers to participate in competitions throughout the year and be exhibited at major festivals like Paris Photo and Les Rencontres d’Arles. Since 2006, SFR has supported the work of hundreds of young photographers, including Marc Montméat, Nicola Lo Calzo and Yuri Toroptsov.
