University of California, Berkeley: Envisioning Human Rights

Preview

As part of its 20th Anniversary celebration, the Human Rights Center at the UC Berkeley School of Law presents Envisioning Human Rights, a collection of world-class human rights photography, curated by Pamela Blotner, on exhibit at Boalt Hall, UC Berkeley, through October 2014. The exhibition features the work of Mimi Chakarova, Nic Dunlop, Stephen Ferry, Stephen Goldblatt, Ken Light, Susan Meiselas, Thomas Morley, Gilles Peress, Sebastião Salgado, and Jean-Marie Simon.

The first University-based organization of its kind on the West Coast, the Human Rights Center conducts research on war crimes and other serious violations of international humanitarian law and human rights. We use evidence-based methods and innovative technologies to hold perpetrators accountable and support vulnerable populations. We also train students and advocates to document human rights violations and turn this information into effective action.

The Envisioning Human Rights photographs will be shown and auctioned to benefit the work of the Human Rights Center. To learn more about the photographs and benefit sale, visit envisioninghumanrights.com. To learn more about the Human Rights Center, visit hrc.berkeley.edu
