That was 4 years ago! Some symbolic photos signed Thierry Bouët and accompanied by this text:
The circumstances were so exceptional that a photographer could not escape a precious visual testimony. Not being on an equal footing with my press colleagues circulating freely, I decided on another, less academic, method of operation. It is strictly prohibited to fly a drone over a built-up area. However, this was the only way to understand the extent of the void. The shots are taken in response to carefully prepared flight plans. They had to be stealthy and obey strict measures of discretion.
The most spectacular sites without traffic or pedestrians are often heavily guarded official buildings. We were hidden in narrow streets to fly from roof to roof and position the drone in the axis of perspectives. The lower it is, the closer it is, but the more it is identifiable by the sound of its propellers.
I knew I was going to get arrested by the police, but the later the better. The day of the last photo, I was hiding behind the arcades of rue de Rivoli. The drone flew over the Louvre pyramid, the anti-drone brigade monitored the scene with radar. They are professionals, they find me and take me to the 11th police station where I am interviewed by a judicial police officer.
The case ends in court with a reminder of the law and the seizure of the offensive tool.
