Finally the long awaited third issue of The Gentlewoman is here. Editor in chief Penny Martin and creative director Jop van Bennekom has chosen Alasdair McLellan to shoot the british soul artist Adele for the cover. McLellan (who also just recently shot the stunningly beautiful cover of Laura Stone for Selfservice’s spring/summer 2011 issue) has used his impeccable feeling for simplicity and – together with fashion director Jonathan Kaye – created a understated and very fashionable black and white portrait of Ms Adkins. Apart from cover star Adele Adkins, the issue also features interviews with strong and fashionable women such as Colette’s creative director Sarah, artist Germaine Kruip and writer Fatima Bhutto. In the fashion part you will find contributions from renowned photographers Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Alasdair McLellan, Willy Vanderperre, Liz Collins, Daniel Riera, Robi Rodriguez and Benjamin Alexander Huseby.
As usual it´s clever and ambitious journalism in combination with beautiful portraiture and fashion photography. A must for every modern woman.
