This week’s first photo takes us into the heart of the drama in Turkey, an evolving society facing a stutterer, a deaf-mute when it comes to history, the latest “kayaker” flirting with the biggest shark there is… And during these soccer days, a little look at Chinese “democracy,” a whole lot of nothing. Luckily, I don’t have all the world’s newspapers at my disposal, but the big ones give us plenty to read about:
The Times: The English Prison Crisis
Libération: The New Bin Laden
The Guardian: US and Iran join forces in Iraq
Le Monde: Le Monde Falls Prey to Social Conflicts
Le Parisien: France Wants to Dream
Le Figaro: Demonstrators Prevent Students From Taking Their Exit Exams
Paris-Match: The Superstar Queen
Gala: Letizia of Spain, Queen Despite Many Trials
So this is Democracy. Well let’s be like piglets and get our snouts down in the trough to pick out—with delicacy and intelligence—the most anticipated publication. News is horrible. Everything’s getting worse and it’s someone else’s fault. The good news is what’s found in this press review. And of course I’m glad to be presenting it, which couldn’t have happened without the help of David Pujadas.
How to live free of ideology? Simple: forget the idea about the End of History.
Have a nice week.
