Le Temple is undoubtedly one of the smallest exhibition spaces in Paris. Located on a small square removed from the neighborhood’s hustle and bustle, the gallery turns its lack of space to its advantage. Every piece on display is unique and placed with the utmost pragmatism. The latest exhibition is no exception to the rule. Defying the classical codes of exhibitions, Movimientos de Suelo takes viewers into the heart of Argentina through the work of three photographers: Aleix Plademunt, Juan Diego Valera and Roger Guaus. There’s no indication as to which photographer took which photograph. The important thing here is the result.
“This project is based solely on the mass registration of experiences and situations of all kinds starting from the simple fact of traveling and taking pictures. The final result is a demonstration of a failed mission: not only is it incapable of being a concrete experience, but it shows the impossibility of giving the sense of a project which, once it is completed, offers nothing new and can be summarized as an exercise in imitation and the plagiarism of icons that have been photographed thousands of times. This objectiveless photographic project was a selfish process about the exchange of ideas and experiences, but it also served to rethink concepts and, ultimately, to grow and learn.”
