“Disobediance, disrespect, impertinence, impudence, insolence: these are words that might feature on the school report of a disaffected teenager and it is these words which sum up the spirit of this collection. All these people nonchalantly or arrogantly sticking out their tongue are like mirror-images – each of these poses reflects a tiny part of me.
Before turning to fine art photography, I was a circus performer for 20 years. This experience has influenced both my photographic work and how I position myself within the field of photograpy. The way that I take pictures and my love of humour owe something to the otherworldly naïvety of the clown.” – Sylvain Granjon 2018
The collection of anonymous photographs “TONGUE OUT” will be projected Friday July 6 2018, at the Papeteries Etienne (screen number 3) during the Night of the Year Arles 2018.
