This work is an attempt to capture the atmosphere of a French village located in the Pays d’Ouche, Sainte Marguerite de l’Autel, a place in harmony with nature and the seasons, where one can feel the passage of time, silence, emptiness, a place where the omnipresent horizon intensifies our perceptions. This series pays tribute to those who fight to preserve a living space, and to its inhabitants who, in 2011, elected to rename the city in order to signal its rebirth. They now refer to themselves as “les Altamarguais.”
I am 47-year-old French photographer living in Paris.
