The Salon de l’Agriculture opened this weekend in Paris in an atmosphere of anger and frustration among the people of the farming world.
The opportunity to dedicate today’s edition to those in France far from cities and political power.
An edition mainly built around photographs by Yann Arthus Bertrand, but also a new exhibition by Paris-Match and the archives of the Roger-Viollet Agency. In his Memoirs published in the evening of his life, in 1638, Maximilien de Béthune, Duke of Sully (1559-1641), reported this words to the good King Henri IV: “Plowing and pasture are the two breasts of France and the true mines and treasures of Peru.”
Very little has changed.
