In 2012, Simon Arcache moved to North Carolina (United States) and joined the team of the Music Maker Relief Foundation, a non-profit organization whose objective is to support Blues musicians in precarious situations by providing them with everything they need to make a worthwhile living from their music. He then befriended many musicians supported by the foundation, whom he accompanied both on stage, as a guitarist, and in their criss-crossing of the Old South, from North Carolina to Louisiana, playing in old juke joints and hanging out in drink houses where corn brandy is consumed at a dollar a glass.
Over the years, he forged quasi-filial relationships with many musicians: Captain Luke, Big Ron Hunter, Freeman Vines, Alabama Slim and the pianist Ironing Board Sam.
