The Parisian boutique Leica invites South African photographer Roger Ballen to sign his monograph Ballenesque, to be published by Thames & Hudson. The signature will take place from 18:30 to 21:30.
Ballenesque is the first monographic dedicated to this photographer. The reader will be able to observe his first works, realized in the 1970s. His famous work on the Afrikaner communities also occupies an important place. The book includes works by various publications such as Platteland (1994), Outland (2001), Shadow Chamber (2005), Boarding House (2009), Asylum of the Birds (2014) and The Theater of Apparitions (2017).
This monograph is orchestrated by art historian and critic Robert J. C. Young, dean of art and humanities at New York University in Abu Dhabi.
