Under Such a Sky
The photographs are from 1990, the year which saw the unification of the two Germanies in stark contrast one from the other. I was curious about the people left behind in the East after the fall of the Berlin Wall in November, 1989 and during two visits, in July and December, I wandered the streets in search of what attracted me to go and make photographs there. Or to make photographs anywhere for that matter.
Followed, journeys to Ukraine in 1992 and 1993 and to Poland in 1995 and 1996. I am searching for a publisher interested in my photographs from those early years following the fall of the Wall. My interest is always in people. As individuals: how we carry with us, whether crossing a street or waiting for a bus, our hopes and fears and concerns as we cope with the challenges of an ever changing world.
