Vanishing Cuba is a visual storytelling project by American Italian photographer Michael Chinnici. A collection of over 300 photographs and stories from Michael’s 24 trips to Cuba. The collection depicts the changes Cuba is facing as it emerges from more than 60 years of isolation and decay. Michael’s 24 trips to Cuba have yielded tens of thousands of photographs, thought-provoking and emotional stories, and created lifelong friendships. Vanishing Cuba is about capturing the “Soul of Cuba”, and Michael’s love affair with Cuba and the Cuban people clearly comes through in this compelling and beautifully produced book.
The limited edition book has been printed in Italy by LONGO AG in Bolzano, using superior printing techniques and using the finest quality paper. The extraordinary attention to detail in every aspect of curating, designing, print, production is being done to make it a truly collectors item. The books have been designed and printed in three different editions. Sliver, Deluxe and Reserve. The Deluxe and Reserve editions of the books are encased in custom designed, handcrafted slip cases, produced in Italy.
