Until March 20, 2024, Quai de la Photo highlights the work of Kate Barry and pays tribute to her through a retrospective. The opportunity to discover the sometimes little-known work of Kate Barry for the 10th anniversary of her death in 2013 at the age of 46. The work My Own Space by Sylvain Besson published this year by Editions de La Martinière gave its name to the photographer’s exhibition at the Nicéphore Niépce Museum in Chalon-sur-Saône, to which the family entrusted all of her negatives, contact sheets, digital archives, a large selection of prints (the remainder being hosted by the Bibliothèque nationale de France). The Nicéphore Niépce museum is today sharing the exhibition My Own Space with the Quai de la photo to allow the Parisian public to discover the fragile and poetic work of Kate Barry. This exhibition of 80 photos will occupy the two levels of Quai de la Photo for more than 3 months and will take place in two stages: from December 15 to February 5 then from February 7 to March 20. The opportunity to discover the full extent of Kate Barry’s work through her emblematic projects and her favorite themes: melancholic landscapes, fashion, portraits and in particular the way she looked at her family…
