Due to great public success, the current ALICE SPRINGS. RETROSPECTIVE will be extended and can be seen through January 21, 2024!
On the occasion of June Newton´s aka Alice Springs 100th Birthday, the Helmut Newton Foundation opened the big solo exhibition ALICE SPRINGS. RETROSPECTIVE in June 2023. While major Alice Springs exhibitions were already hosted at the HNF in 2010 and 2016, many of the photographs in this new retrospective have never been seen before. With an extensive research into the foundations archives, particularly the holdings, recently transferred to Berlin from the Newton´s apartment in Monaco, provide new insights into the work of Alice Springs.
The success of the exhibition is also reflected in the numerous press reviews in international magazines such as The Observer, Vanity Fair, ELLE, Playboy, Forbes Magazine and ZOO Magazine. In addition, the various reviews in the German media, such as Stern, Tagesspiegel, Monopol or ZEIT, should also be highlighted in this context. Especially worth mentioning is the in-depth article in the Feuilleton of the FAZ.
