Until August 30, the 17th Promenades Photographiques of Vendôme take place. About thirty exhibitions are presented there. We have selected 5 of them for you.
When I was a teenager, I started to practice photography, to be allowed to look at other people. But it was much later, after I started psychoanalysis, that I was able to develop a device that help the encounter with the other.
On the couch, the instruction is free association: to state everything that comes to mind to allow the signifiers of the discourse to emerge, picked up by the analyst. It was then that I decided to transpose the analytical framework into what was to become a recurring program of photographic sessions, which continues to this day. So, I invite men and women to come to my house, get naked and bare themselves. They come to leave a trace of their body with their gestures, their expressions and take the risk of revealing to my gaze the mark of desire. By Desire I mean what moves us, makes us come alive. The determined moment, the identical place, the natural light, create the conditions for a space where the appearance of their presence is revealed. I record it on film as signifiers, recognized signs, Improvisations.
Improvisations took place in two stages spaced fifteen years apart. I left it, the better to come back to it. To this day, this constitutes a substantial body of work, from which I draw to write sequences, sentences, each time unique.
Since 2018, a young actor has gradually freed himself from this framework by letting his memories, fantasies, real or imaginary characters re-emerge: The story is a follow-up to the Improvisations opening onto a new field of creation.

From adolescence, I seized the photographic tool to seek through the form of the portrait the meeting with the Other. After teaching at ETPA and then at EFET, I focused on the traditional practice of film. My work revolves around a main body of work, Improvisations which ramifies into a set of distinct series: : Allongés (2001), Récit (depuis 2018), Quatre séquences (2019), Kler (depuis 2019).
