Always organized by the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, which entrusted the artistic direction to François Hébel, the Mois de la Photo (Month of Photography) becomes this year the Mois de la Photo du Grand Paris (Month of the Photo of Greater Paris). To the usual, foreign cultural institutes, galleries and Parisian institutions, are now added exhibition spaces of thirty cities around Paris. A total of 90 exhibitions devoted to photography, and more broadly to the visual arts. Some twenty places will present unpublished exhibitions of great masters and young talents.
Novelty of this edition: the creation of appointments around three “Intensive Week-Ends” organized to encourage geographical trajectories on specific dates: April 8th and 9th in the Northeast, April 22nd and 23rd in the Southwest, and on the 29th and 30th of April, the Diagonal Week-End (from the North-West to the South-East). An opportunity to create moments of meetings between the public and the photographers since these, accompanied by the curators, will be at the exhibition sites to welcome visitors.
Three choices in the Greater Paris: Les EpouxP, Pascale & Damien Peyret, at the Air and Space Museum in Le Bourget; Estelle Lagarde at the Anis Gras-le Lieu de l’Autre in Arcueil; the collective exhibition Space Oddity at the Maison des Arts in Créteil and Ambroise Tézenas and Henri Cartier-Bresson at the Musée de l’Hôtel-Dieu in Mantes-la-Jolie.
