John MacDougall, a photojournalist at Agence France-Presse, was awarded the “Rückblende,” one of the most prestigious German photography prizes, for an image taken during a memorial service for three soldiers killed in Afghanistan. MacDougall is the first AFP photographer to receive the prize.
