Release by Prisme Editions of Brutalism in Belgium by Pierrick de Stexhe, an editorial project highlighting the main brutalist buildings in Belgium, erected between the 1950s-1980s. These Belgian architectural realisations are at a crucial crossroads in their existence: threatened with demolition, transformed or simply abandoned. The work lists more than 50 constructions, located in Brussels, Liège, Namur, Antwerp, Ghent, Louvain-la-Neuve, Leuven, Turnhout, Charleroi, Mons, Hasselt, Dilbeek, Harelbeke and Oostende, whose fate is at stake today.
Architect and photographer Pierrick de Stexhe has taken shots of each building with a large-format black-and-white argentic camera, and has developed and digitised each negative himself.
