Corinne Mariaud is interested in the representation of bodies. Giving oneself over to all metamorphoses in order to deconstruct genre codes like social codes, this is the obsession of young Asians of which she has photographed the elusive outlines in two iconic series: Fake i Real Me (2017) brings together portraits of young girls ready for anything – surgery aesthetics, contact lenses, hair coloring – in order to achieve their ideal of beauty; Flower Beauty Boys (2018), brings together portraits of non-binary boys wearing make-up to undermine the clichés of traditional virility.
Portrait (s) presents eleven exhibitions, held simultaneously in the city center and outdoors, in the open air: in the space of the Galleries of the Vichy Cultural Center, built at the beginning of the last century and on the Esplanade du Lac Allier. This year, a new place joins the Portrait (s) exhibition spaces, the Hall des Sources, an emblematic place in the city.
