Pierre Cambon is a versatile artist whose work combines photography, engraving, drawing and choreography. In his search for a balance between the intimate and the ostensible, between inner light and an outer glow, he has mastered the interplay of silver grain and pigment to show interiority. The exhibition Jeter l’encre brings together several series featuring all of Cambon’s techniques and tools.
Born in 1970, Pierre Cambon lives and works in Agen, France. A graphic designer by training, he taught himself the photo-mechnical process of photogravure, which dates from the end of the 19th century and early 20th century. The technique allows Cambon two combine two of his favorite media: photography, which he has practiced since adolescence, and intaglio, which he discovered in 2006.
