The 6th edition of Photographies pour tous (“Photography for all,” or “PPT) auction was held on March 10th, 2015, at the Salle VV on Rue Rossini in Paris. It was a real success.
The concept was developed by Christophe Goeury as a way to make purchasing photographs more accessible to new and young buyers. Most items sell for between 40 and 400 euros. The event is closely watched by French and foreign buyers.
Highlights of the auction included the collection of an amateur collector in Lyon whose photographs of African studios from the ‘50s to the ‘80s fetched double their estimated value, the “Avenue Kleber Album,” a ‘60s-era print of Man Ray’s La résurrection des mannequins, an original image of “Buffalo Bill in Paris,” plus several movie photographs, including rare portraits and still photographs featuring the likes of Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Jeanne Moreau, Anita Ekberg, Sophia Loren, Jacques Tati, Louis de Funès and Lino Ventura.
The success of the event among younger collectors owes itself to the unique and innovative selections made by the organizers for this 6th edition of Photographies pour tous.
