Philippe Chancel: Rebel’s

Preview

Like them, I’m 20 years old. Paris, outside night, brilliant interiors. Very early 80s, the triangle Grands Boulevards, République, Gare de l’Est, mark their territory. The 50s violence is back again, in the manner of West Side story between two rival bands coming from the suburbs but also  from wealthy neighborhoods: the Vikings and Panthers. Blacks, Whites, and the kids of North African descent. Nice mugs  already cracked. The bottom of the air is for the tribes, the look, the trendy magazines are looking for something new and interesting, I have found I am sure hypest  story  of the moment.

Troubles, but mostly, and that’s what I come to get is this fucking trilogy, sex, drugs and Rock & Roll. Immersed, accepted, rejected, caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. I constantly photograph while  going through night scenes and so desired downward spiral,  I fight with the boosted flash of my Nikon. To try to play in the firmament the burning and fast life  that appears in front my eyes in the buried hope of one and possible tomorrow
