South Of The Humber – Trent Falls to Fitties Beach
For the past few months I’ve been working on a photo documentary based on the south side of the Humber estuary. The images were taken between May and September 2024 and are a mix of landscape and portrait styles with a forensic approach to artefacts (from a private collection) found along the bank.
The images form a narrative that combines the historical and contemporary contexts alongside peoples stories and experiences of living on or close to the Humber. I’ve written around 2000 words to accompany the photographs. The Humber estuary is very unique and hopefully I’ve captured the essence of the area and how the estuary is defined from a south bank perspective.
