What is your point of view on the financial side of the photographic market today ?
The question seems to be a bit harder to address, just like anything, there is a supply and demand, and depend what is it that you are offering, you are either simply a merchant of Art dealing, buying and reselling, as some very specific items, if you work say in vintage prints, then there are some serious sellers and very serious buyer for something very particular, so in here the dynamics are very different, what you have and what buyers are looking for, like for us in the gulf region, there is a lot of demand but there are lack of resources for rare material, as opposed to other markets where there are plenty of material but the demand does not match the product potential buyers. For a contemporary fine Art Photography, also the same applies, the pool of Photographers is so large and and so vast, you can choose so much, but there fewer very fine Art Photographers today who have a unique visual language and content that goes with it, which makes it harder and harder and more challenging.
