Introduction
Hanane Hilmi and Jean Noël de Soye opened In Camera gallery in june 2008 The project is to support 20th century photographers and contemporary photographers. Among documentary photography the gallery makes a choice of confrontations between classical,urban, social or concerned esthetics, and more current sensitivities opened to the changes in landscapes and explorations of the territory, and of the new margins.
The gallery presents some photographers faithful to BW such as Jane Evelyn Atwood or Stephane Duroy and great colorists as Bertien van Manen, Dolores Marat or Gueorgui Pinkhassov.
What is your point of view on the financial side of the photographic market today ?
Seeing the crowds at the recent exhibitions of Jane Evelyn Atwood at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Lewis Hine at the Fondation Cartier Bresson or Diane Arbus at the Jeu de Paume one can say photography is alive and well.
This passion we can see it too at the gallery In Camera , with the many visitors attracted by well known photographers such as Jane Evelyn Atwood and Stephane Duroy.
However when we present less well known photographers we have fewer visitors and yet we would love to make them known to a larger public.
