Through May 28th, the Hotel de Ville in Paris presents an exhibition on the Commune of Paris of 1871. Many photographs capture the dramatic events that unfold in the capital 140 years ago. The photographs showing ruins of monuments and houses destroyed during the combats of the Bloody Week (“Semaine sanglante”) are the most important photographic ensemble concerning the Commune.
