Thorns continues the artists investigation into themes surrounding grief and the human condition, whilst also encouraging the viewer to foster a greater awareness of the fragility of life and the importance of preserving the natural world. With the series set against the backdrop of the artists breathtaking surroundings in Costa Rica, Salas invites viewers to engage in a visual dialogue that prompts reflection on the profound and interconnected aspects of life and our place in the world.
Allan Salas Moscoso [b. 1993] is a photographer based in San José, Costa Rica. His work is a poetic exploration that revolves around the themes of mortality, the passage of time, and the relationship between humans and nature.
