The project entitled Acropolis 100 Views is the result of a collaboration between the photographer Yannis Drakoulidis and the architectural collective Point Supreme. Inspired by One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji by Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai, this series of photos comprises about a hundred images of the sacred rock that dominates the centre of Athens. In most of the photos of the Acropolis, the Athenian city is a backdrop to the rock. The idea of the project is to reverse the relationship between the Athenian setting and the Acropolis by offering alternative picture postcards that neither flatter nor denigrate the landscape. In fact, through the images a palette of different Athenian settings is discovered.
