I began this series of photographs following a very unpleasant event. Last year, the place where I live and everything in it—my room, my bed, my furniture, my paintings and personal belongings, my clothing—was photographed by someone else without my knowledge. I was able to see the photographs during the legal proceedings.
A burglary would have been less shocking. My house felt dirty now, the furniture and the objects became hostile. It took time for me to see my home once again as a place of privacy.
This was how the project started. I wanted to win back home, leave my mark on it. Photographically, this series is unique in that its subject is not about me but about the relationship to the place.
