The sweet melancholy of black and white

I can’t bring myself to photograph landscapes as they appear to me, i.e. in color; I only see and feel them in monochrome.
A gentle melancholy comes over me every time I take a photo, as I perceive the soul of the places around me and project them in my photos.
Color distracts my gaze, while black and white shows me what’s essential, soothes me and transports me to a dreamlike world.
Black and white emphasizes lines, shapes and contours. It gives nobility and depth to the image, sublimating it.
