MOMENTA is actively looking for a visionary general director who will be responsible for running and influencing the organization while leading the team to prepare the 2025 edition of the biennial. This opportunity is aimed at a dynamic professional with an exceptional creative spirit and expertise in strategic and operational management. This is a unique opportunity to produce a major art biennial that positions Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montreal for its contemporary art offering locally, nationally and internationally.
Job Requirements
- Graduate university degree in a relevant discipline (art history, museology, visual arts) or equivalent;
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience, including at least 3-5 years in management of cultural organizations (employee management, financial management, budget development, etc.);
- Experience in managing non-profit organizations and great knowledge of grant programs;
- Very good knowledge of contemporary art and cultural organizations;
- Good knowledge of the Quebec and Montreal art world;
- Knowledge of procedures and governance rules;
- Recognized financial and human management capacity;
- Great strategic skills, combined with an ability to work within a small team;
- Strong conceptual skills, strategic, autonomous and creative vision;
- Excellent writing skills and very good communication and public relations skills;
- French-English bilingualism both orally and in writing.
Salary and conditions
- Annual salary is $65,000 to $85,000 depending on experience and qualifications;
- During the even year (non-biennial year), 6% of the annual salary in vacation days. During the odd year (biennial year), 4% of the annual salary in vacation days;
- 8 wellness leaves in non-biennial years;
- Health care contribution of $1,000.
