To celebrate its 10th anniversary, i.e. 42 exhibitions by 27 photographers, the Mind’s Eye gallery presents an exhibition by Adrian Bondy of Parisian cafés. The exhibition ends on Sunday July 10. There are only a few days left to see it. The gallery will then be closed until September.
An exhibition of photographs, mostly from the eighties and nineties, made in Parisian cafes such as Les Deux Magots, Le Bonaparte, Le Mouffetard, Le Verre à Pied, Préfontaines, Au Chien Qui Fume, Le Café de la Mairie, L’Escale, La Closerie des Lilas, and Aux Folies. Also featured are several of the author’s “blowups”, recompositions of images in which all elements of the original photograph are present, albeit with distinct scales. The grain of the film thus plays an important role, and frequently overlooked details of the image are brought to the fore. Several of these photos and blowups were exhibited in 2019 in Paris and in Camagüey, Cuba.
