2 collectors, Valérie de Marotte and Vicenç Boned, launched Galeria Tagomago in 2009 in Barcelona.
The gallery is dedicated to contemporary photography including in its exhibition program confirmed artists as well as young authors. From the beginning, all kind of processes ( XIXth century wet collodion plates to iPhonegraphy, digital as well as analogical photography) and all kind of narrative ( documentary, fashion, personal, experimental photography) have been selected in order to enhance the power of this medium in our society. By its geographic position, Galeria Tagomago is naturally working with Spanish photographers but has also the aim to present authors from all around the world. This year, Galeria Tagomago has opened a showroom in Paris.
Fairs represent very good opportunities to present works to a wide range of collectors and curators. Galeria Tagomago has been participating in MadriFoto since 2009, PhotoOff Paris since 2010, Swab Barcelona since 2011 and attends MIA Fair Milano for the first time. Knowing Enrica Vigano, we have been interested in the special concept of this new fair: presentation of one artist only by booth. According to the gallery’s line, are presented in MIA 2012 two booths, one with Ferran Freixa, a confirmed Barcelona photographer and the other with Luna Tristá young author born in Cuba and living now in Milano.
The selected series of Ferran Freixa are mainly dedicated to his work done in 1994 in Barcelona, when the Gran Teatre del Liceu was destroyed by fire, and will also include some vintage prints from early works.
Luna Tristá presents an ongoing series of portraits. As many young artists do it in photography, her direct underground environment is the centre of her attention but she also plays the game with some experimental self-‐portraits.
