In 1949 the young American photographer Cuchi White came to Europe for the first time. She discovered Italy and fell in love. She felt much more comfortable in the old continent that in her home country. Her photographs were influenced by the social commitment of the Photo League and tell of an Italy where to hope is a duty.
Bel Vedere Fotografia, founded in 2004 to promote and enhance the culture of photography, is now an important presence in Milan, the gallery organizes exhibitions, produces catalogs, promotes debate and offers new opportunities to meet and dialogue for those who love photography , in particular black and white reportage to which the Gallery devotes ample space.
