Mikael Jansson is one of the worlds most sought after fashionphotographers, working for magazines like Interview and Vogue Paris. For the men’s spring fashion issue of New York Times’ style supplement T, he created a series of images called ”Ballad of a Thin Man”. Stylist Bill Mullen brought a bunch of suits (and dresses!) from Versace, Prada, Rick Owens, Calvin Klein och Gucci. Together they met up with the ”Godfathers of glam who can still rock a skinny suit”: Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Michael Stipe, Dave Gahan, Nick Cave, Bryan Ferry…
The iconic images of Iggy & Co are now on display in an exhibition called Dum Dum Boys at Gun Gallery in Stockholm. The exhibition is accompanied by a book fully dedicated to the images Mikael Jansson did on Iggy Pop in Miami, the 18th of December 2010. The book is designed by Greger Ulf Nilsson and published by Gun Gallery.
